2001 - Present Sun Microsystems, Inc Cary, NC.
Program Manager, Practice Lead, Solution Architect, Project Manager.

Practice Lead: led pre-sales proposal development for projects in Telco, Government and Financial Services verticals. Drove $10 million in professional services revenue for Sun.
Solution Architect: Mapped customer business requirements onto technical solutions for major telecommunications companies.
Program Manager for multi-year project to replace email and directory infrastructure for Verizon's residential DSL customers (7.5 million mailboxes). Managed team of 19, including two project managers.
Escalation Manager for projects that ran into product issues. For example, I managed interface between Verizon Wireless and Sun’s Identity Management engineering group. Saved $2 million software licensing deal.
PMP certification: Passed the exam on first try in August, 2005.
My excellence and productivity was recognized by Sun’s highest performance rating for 4 consecutive years.

1997 – 2001 iPlanet/Netscape Communications Corporation Cary, NC.
Project Executive/Managing Principal Consultant /Principal Consultant for Netscape Professional Services

Program Manager for major Intranet portal deployment for all General Motors employees in US (37,000 simultaneous users). Project completed on schedule.
Managing Principal Consultant: I was architect and also team lead for successful e-commerce system deployment for Bank of America Treasury Operations.
Principal technical consultant and product guru for CommerceXpert products. I architected and deployed solutions using these three-tier products (Java/Messaging middleware/Oracle) at Bank of America, CBS Sportsline, Bell Atlantic, MBNA.
I became a Sun employee when AOL ended its participation in iPlanet.

I have my own IT consulting and website design business, Pilgrim Marine Consultants, LLC. Clients include Matthews Point Yacht Sales, Morehead City Yacht Basin, and Parker Boats.
